Alabama Born and Bred
Christian Fundamentalism FedI was born in the middle of the Great Depression, early enough to remember World War II. On a farm in the red hills of East Alabama, where mules were the power for plowing, I learned the rudiments of human living once again. After seventeen years of eking out a living from soil cursed because Cain killed Abel (That's what the Bible says!), I rushed off to be a patriot in the Korean Conflict. Four years later I became a Plumber's Assistant, Service Station Attendant, Textile Worker, Railway Clerk, and entrepreneur before being ordained (Deacon and Elder) as an Itinerant Minister in The United Methodist Church. Those travels took me across North Alabama, the jungles of Southern Mexico, and to a tiny island in the Coral Sea, as a "faith" missionary and Bible translator. Physical ailments and spiritual turmoil convinced me to return to Alabama. I became an educator with credentials in Business Administration, Language, and Social Studies. Over a period of ten years I taught in Junior High, High School, and Junior College. After another stint as an entrepreneur (marketing nationwide electronic devices I invented and patented), I returned to college and became a state licensed and National Registered Paramedic. All total I was awarded a BS Degree from Jacksonville State University, a Master's Degree from Emory University, did post graduate work at Oklahoma University, and received Emergency Medical Technician certificates as Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic. That brought my total number of majors to six, with two minors. Not bad for a high school dropout.
When I retired I began to devote full time to writing, the one thing I've always wanted to do more than anything else. Through the years, I wrote six novels, but often expressed my feelings and inner turmoil in the form of poems. A couple of short stories preceded my efforts at writing screenplays. When my walls and ceiling were papered with rejection slips, I said to hell with publishers and set forth to find the truth about life. After extensive study of the subconscious, dreams, karma, reincarnation, and hypnosis, in a session of self-hypnosis, I gained knowledge of a past life which became both an obsession and a solace. My discoveries about life and thoughts about mankind are recorded in eleven books I have written. [The Rainbow Series (Four New Age Books); The Crossing Water Series (Six Novels); and Know Thy Self] But the many words expressing my philosophy can be summed up in one sentence. I call it the Platinum Rule of life.
Whatsoever you do to others, you do to your Self.
