A mind so young, a heart so tender,
A body strong, but very slender.
Ordered his sock to don,
He obeyed, arose, and was gone.
Many years later he'd learn,
In that moment, life took a turn!

Pushing a lock's button down,
Created the belief, Love was Found!
Being a joy he'd never known,
His heart soared, all the way home.

His job a dead-end street,
With the corporate Exec he did meet.
Told the safety glasses to wear,
He smiled and said, "I don't care!"
Many years later he'd learn,
In that moment, life took a turn!

A worse feeling, he'd never had,
Came with confessions of being bad.
Fully persuaded, "If you do, it's hell you know."
Cringing in fear, mutters, "Together we'll go!"
Many years later he'd learn,
In that moment, life took a turn!

Gazing in eyes, seeing the soul,
Wishing with her to grow old.
When time came the tent to fold,
Those precious words left untold.
Many years later he'd learn
In that moment, life took a turn!

Goods to the pier had been carted.
Failing faith was soon departed.
With nothing better on which to hold,
His mind returned to ways of old.
Many years later he'd learn,
In that moment, life took a turn!

Many years later he'd learn,
In that moment life took a turn,
There'd been a choice to make,
Another road to take!
For better or worse, he'll never know.
It all happened, so very long ago.
